El pasado domingo 17 de marzo se llevó a cabo la Copa Continental de Triatlón en Barbados donde el joven triatleta norteamericano Reese Vannerson y Lisa Perterer de Austria se quedaron con los títulos de campeones en las principales categorías.

Reese Vannerson de Estados Unidos que venía de ganar la división juvenil en Miami la semana pasada, logró pasar primero por la línea de meta haciendo una buena marca de 00:55:17. De esta manera, el joven norteamericano se quedó con el primer lugar y la medalla de oro en la categoría Elite Men en Barbados. El podio masculino lo completaron el locatario Matthew Wright que se ubicó en segunda posición con un tiempo de 00:55:58 y Nicholas Holmes de Estados Unidos que finalizó en tercer lugar parando el reloj a los 00:56:04 de carrera. En esta ocasión, se subieron al podio también los triatletas que se ubicaron en cuarto y quinto lugar. Sullivan Middaugh y Blake Bullard, ambos de Estados Unidos, fueron quienes respectivamente completaron los lugares en el estrado.

Con respecto a la categoría Elite Women, la austríaca Lisa Perterer fue la ganadora de la fecha luego de pasar primera por la línea de meta en un tiempo de 01:01:50. En segundo lugar se ubicó Leslie Amat Alvarez de Cuba con un tiempo de 01:02:12 y la tercera posición fue para Isla Britton de Canadá con un tiempo de 01:02:22. Lydia Russell de Estados Unidos y Kira Gupta-Baltazar de Canadá fueron las triatletas que completaron el podio en cuarto y quinto lugar.

De esta forma, se cierra entonces de manera exitosa la Americas Triathlon Cup Barbados 2024. Felicitaciones a los ganadores de la etapa y también a todos los triatletas que formaron parte de esta nueva Copa Continental de Triatlón.

2024 Americas Triathlon Cup Barbados

Last Sunday, March 17, the Continental Triathlon Cup was held in Barbados where the young North American triathlete Reese Vannerson and Lisa Perterer from Austria won the champion titles in the main categories.

Reese Vannerson from the United States, who had just won the youth division in Miami last week, managed to cross the finish line first with a good mark of 00:55:17. In this way, the young American took first place and the gold medal in the Elite Men category in Barbados. The men's podium was completed by local Matthew Wright who placed second with a time of 00:55:58 and Nicholas Holmes from the United States who finished in third place stopping the clock at 00:56:04 of the race. On this occasion, the triathletes who placed fourth and fifth place also got on the podium.
